Trump condemns attempted attacks on Democratic officials: 'Political violence has no place in the US'

President Donald Trump on Wednesday condemned a series of suspected mail bombing attempts against Democratic officials, saying "threats of political violence of any kind have no place" in the U.S.

"This egregious conduct is abhorrent," Trump said at a White House bill signing event.

On Wednesday, law enforcement officials said "potential explosive devices" addressed to former President Barack Obama and ex-presidential candidate Hillary Clinton had been intercepted.
